TIGER RAG CENTURY EDITION is a tribute in honor of the 100th anniversary of the first recorded jazz track intended for distribution to the general public. Released by Cose Sonore / Alman Music in collaboration with the Ragtime Cultural Association, this 12'' 45 RPM vinyl record, produced in a limited edition with numbered copies, features a specially restored transfer of the original recording performed in New York on August 17, 1917, by the Original Dixieland Jass Band.
In addition, commemorating the 140th anniversary of Thomas A. Edison's invention of the phonograph, the record includes another version of the same track performed one hundred years later by the Italian formation Tiger Dixie Band and recorded on a phonographic cylinder (with the participation of the New Project Cultural Association and Phono Works Germany) during the ArcheoPhonica Exhibition held in Bolzano in the summer of 2017.
