From opera to Latin jazz, an inspired album dedicated to women, released one week ahead of the celebration of March 8th.
The alto-soprano from South Tyrol, Giada Bucci (a graduate of the Conservatory of Vicenza and later mentored in the study of Bel Canto by Maestro Pavarotti), has made a name for herself not only as an opera singer but also as an unwavering champion of women's rights. She has consistently engaged in combating all forms of violence or marginalization against women and, above all, promoting female creativity. And it is precisely the woman, understood as a universal, indelible, and timeless symbol, that serves as the common thread of the new album, NUDE. Through its myriad facets, this album aims to break down the endemic barriers that often divide what we might call the music of the past from that of today. One extraordinary and wonderful woman for one extraordinary and wonderful music.
Drawing inspiration from the famous female characters in the works of the greatest composers (from Juliet Capulet to Violetta Valery, from Manon to Floria Tosca), with the creative input and arrangements by the versatile Gigi Grata, the project BLUE DI GIADA interprets the loves, jealousies, happiness, and follies that have characterized female stereotypes through centuries of music in a more modern and energetic Latin jazz style. From opera to jazz, the journey also includes a stop in the realm of popular songs inspired by the figures of Fellini's Anita Ekberg and Modugno's Lazzarella.
The album, released by Alman Music (distributed by Self), was produced between Riva Del Garda and Bolzano and features the participation of Gigi Grata (trombone, trumpet, flugelhorn, electric bass), Renzo De Rossi (piano), Sandro Giudici (drums), Stefano Colpi (double bass), Gregor Marini (guitars), Fiorenzo Zeni (tenor and soprano saxophones), Giorgio Beberi (baritone saxophone), Angel Ballester Veliz (alto saxophone and flute), José Antonio Molina Ponce (percussion), and Piero Pegoretti (piano).
